Janette,
The first Josh G song I really took notice to was Vincent (Starry, Starry Night). Love that one. What was his first "hit"?
pj
"Vincent" is an amazing song, but Josh's first "hit" was "You're Still You". That song really put him on the map. The song "Remember When It Rained" from CLOSER really holds a special place in my heart. I loved that song within the first 10 seconds of hearing it! Another Josh Groban song that I can never stop listening to is "BELIEVE" from the film "The Polar Express" - it's a beautiful Christmas song .... David
NEEDS to record that!!!
If you really want to hear a good example of Josh's range, listen to the BREATH-TAKING "FEBRUARY SONG" from the album "AWAKE". It's really a beautiful ballad. While it's not exactly a "three lunged song" like some of David's, Josh's range is NOTHING to sneeze at! I REALLY recommend that album, it's very, very good!
I really think that AWAKE is the best place for a new JG fan to start - it's more diverse than his previous albums. You have ballads, classical, pop, a very surprising song with Herbie Hancock called "MACHINE" & some wonderful songs with Ladysmith Black Mambazo!
James
PS - Josh's version of "JESU, JOY OF MAN'S DESIRING" is probably the BEST version (recorded or live) of this amazing song ..... ever!
