Lo Suave,
You are too precious for words! I appreciate your kindness and thoughfullness.

Kelli T.
It sounds like you would you recommend "go fish" for other bible studies. Does one person teach the whole thing or do people take turns for each lesson?

Maggie

Awww..thanx Maggie...looks like you did get my response from the hiding thread  I too of course love to sing, and music in general (mostly just christian, AND DAVID!! (which is christian) ) My husband and I have a boat, so we spend most of the summer at any open chance on the water. We fish and I just can't seem to get enough of the water, and sun in the summer.....love warmth 8) ...oh yes, and I too love my plants, and work with them indoors, and outdoors...of course again in the summer/spring 8)
I do many things for my church....song leader, teach youth choir, the odd trip here and there to sing with my Pastor and his wife, I do the bulletins and calendars, and any follow up outreach letters for our church for first time visitors...also go visit the homes of any first time visitors once...these are all jobs someone else might call them, but to me they are hobbies that I truly enjoy, as they are a help to my Pastor, my church, and a way to reach souls......that's what we've been saved for, and I LOOOVE MY HOBBIES

We do have a small group leader (Rick) but with a video study, it kind of leads itself. You watch the video for around 15 minutes or so, then after it's over, there are questions that pop on the screen for group discussion. I would most definitely recommend it! There may even be a study in book form available for this as well. (By the way, I don't know if you're familiar with Charles Stanley or not, but Andy is his son. They are both very gifted communicators).

Kellie T,
Was the gathering last night a bible study? If so, what did you study over there in Mississippi?

Everybody,
What hobbies do you have besides coming here to the david phelps boards? I like to read, write, knit and watch movies. Boring really. Does anybody here have any unusual hobbies?

Much as I do enjoy you all's company, sometimes I wish I could see your facial expressions, body language, etc. Nothing like meeting face to face, you know? However, in terms of my real family, the blood related kind, I love them very much don't get me wrong. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the whole world but sometimes I can't deny I would just rather not have to deal with them face to face, a board like this would do quite nicely, know what I mean?

Maggie

Maggie, yes, it was my small group from church. We have small groups of people who meet in each other's homes once a week instead of traditional Sunday School. We are doing a video study by Andy Stanley called "Go Fish". It talks about being a better witness for the Lord, and uses examples from the 12 disciples point of view. Very good stuff!!

My hobbies are singing, scrapbooking, and spending time with my pets. I also enjoy swimming now (I just learned how to do that last year.... ) .

Tiff,
I can tell you have some pretty interesting hobbies. Planting plants is something I would love to learn how to do. I may be hitting you up for advice on this subject before you know it. I've gone fishing a couple of times and it's very relaxing. I could pick fishing up as a hobby for sure!! Sounds like you have some pretty good bonding time with your parents while you're at it too. That's always nice. Do you have brothers and sisters and do they go too?

still not sure if i like the chat room idea...i have a feeling we'd never see anyone on here anymore, and i like being able to just run in and out on here, cause i'm usually only able to get sporadic times on here...i'd never be able to leave a chat room....i don't know.....hmmmm :?
