No Pancakes tonight!!! Actually, almost anything scheduled for tonight on the east coast of Newfoundland was posponed or cancelled due to the intense storm we had last evening and overnight. We received over a foot of snow and some drifts were even twice that. I am able to get my car out but my drive is far from being cleared and many side streets in our community are still not cleared. It was probably one of the worst storms we have had in twenty years. Hopefully, we will begin to get back on our feet tomorrow.

Here's one for you JoAnne,
One day a boy came home from school who had just gotten his learners permit. He said to his dad, who was a minister, "Dad, I'd like to discuss the use of the car." His father said, "Well son, I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study your bible, and get a haircut, and then we will discuss the use of the car. The boy said, "Okay." A month later the boy came back and siad to his father, "Dad, I'd like to discuss the use of the car." His father said, "Well son, I'm really proud of you. You've brought your grades up. You've studied your bible diligently. But you haven't gotten a haircut. The boy paused a moment. And then said, "Well Dad, I've been thinking about that. Sampson had long hair, Noah had long hair, Moses had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair." And his father said, "Yea, and they WALKED every where they went!"

Oh My...wish I had had that when our son was driving...his hair was not very long.... but he had grown a beard for a part in the school play and he knew I didn't like it so he kept it long after he needed to... :roll: I could have used that.
