Thank you Kellie and Katie - that's the song!
Looks like I need to add another CD to my collection wink.gif

Linda - from the sounds of it, David does his own ironing.
He might need a lesson or two, huh?

Sounds like he needs to get someone to do his ironing! laugh.gif I don't know if he did it himself before or not, but this isn't the first time a shirt has had to be replaced just prior to a concert . . . wink.gif

THANKS GRETCHEN. I JUST LOVE READING ALL THE REVIEWS. I AM PRAYING THAT I WILL BE IN GOOD ENOUGH SHAPE TO ATTEND A CONCERT (GVB) IN APRIL AND THEN I WILL ATTEMPT TO WRITE ONE. IT MAY TAKE A WHILE. I HAVE WANTED TO ATTEND A CONCERT FOR YEARS, BUT CIRCUMSTANCES OF GORD'S HEALTH AND MINE, PREVENTED US FROM DOING THAT. HOWEVER, IT IS MY DREAM. AT LEAST IN APRIL I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WEATHER CONDITIONS, JUST HEALTH CONDITIONS.

AGAIN, THANKS FOR THE REVIEW AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR PICTURES AS WELL.

GOD BLESS MY FRIEND.

Gretchen, the Vocal Band released "Reaching" on a Christmas album when DP was with the group the first time. Here it is, with a little clip. I really like that song.

What a night!

We were blessed that the weather cooperated and the roads were clear for our 3 hour drive to Hoffman Estates.
We arrived just in time to be let in to make our way to the table.

Deana, the Gaither volunteer lady, asked the volunteers if anyone was there for a specific artist.
I raised my hand and said "David Phelps!"
The group of volunteers all went "Awwww man!"
Like "how did you get to do that?" laugh.gif

We met up with Jack, exchanged hugs, and got settled behind the table.
Jack needed 5 more volunteers to work DP's 2nd table, ME's table, and Russ Taff's table - so he
got his volunteers and started showing them how the tables worked.
While he showed the people ME's table, he asked me to train the 2 workers for DP's 2nd table.

Right away, Jack said that David would not be coming out to the table, as he was pretty tired.
I wasn't surprised to hear that, as they had been on the road for 19 days and still had a solo concert left!

Lots of people stopped at the table, some still not aware DP was back with the GVB, before the concert started.
We saw a few people from previous concerts, and enjoyed talking with everyone.

I was expecting Kathy (vegarn) to come to the table before the concert, but they were apparently stuck in the line for the parking lot! laugh.gif

We went into the concert late, and found some seats in the front row, to the right of the stage in the seats along the side. Several of the artists did their solo routine, and then the lights went dark.
Five beings took their place on stage - I knew what was coming smile.gif
Alpha & Omega started and the crowd went nuts! David's face came on the big screen and the crowd errupted!
And again when he does that "Ohhhhhh" part laugh.gif

During one of the GVB songs "I looked at my hands, my hands looked new",
mom and I were waving our hands, and guess who was looking our way?
He smiled while singing and knew we were there laugh.gif

"Nessun Dorma" blew the roof off, and intermission began shortly after.
And lo and behold, the best tenor in the world made his way out to the table!
Woo-hoo!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Right before DP headed back to the stage, we chatted a bit.
We asked about his suit (which according to Mark Lowry, "makes David look like a baked potato!" LOL! )
and he said something about he was ironing his shirt and ruined it, so he had to wear a different shirt.
What?! LOL!
Then he says "Are you coming to CT?"
"Ummm......no, unless you have an extra seat on the plane!" lol

I could tell he was pretty tired, but I was sooooooo glad he came out. Thank you David!!!

The 2nd half of the show went pretty quick. Bill Gaither announced that Sonya Isaacs was getting married Sunday, and he and Gloria sang the sweetest song to her. Not a dry eye in the place!

The GVB sang a song I had not heard before. Something about "reaching". I'm hoping it's on the new project out in January wink.gif

"Silent Night" began and we made our way back to the table. I knew "O Holy Night" was next.
Sales after the show were outstanding!

We helped Jack pack everything up, and then said our goodbyes.
Well, until next time, at least smile.gif

Oh.....I have to go through my pics to see what I have, and will post those later.
I don't have a pic with DP, as there wasn't time.
