The power of words and music put together is incredible, isn't it? Somehow, I think God knew what he was doing when he made man to sing His praises. smile.gif
So glad you had a wonderful time, and thank you for sharing a tiny piece of it with us!

Hey all -

Songs that I can remember (someone else will probably remember more): Fly to You, No More Night, Virtuoso, God Don't Play Second Fiddle, Bring Him Home, Nessun Dorma, That's What Love Is, There is a River, End of the Beginning (last number), My Child is Coming Home (was the encore), How Great Thou Art, a couple of the older hymns (usually David at the piano, Jack on mandolin), patriotic medley (finished with God Bless America), Already There. Those are the ones that I can remember after finishing my homework assignment late last night. Sorry -- I thought I would take notes and write things down, but you get absorbed in listening and forget to do that.

I didn't get any pictures. I'm at Illinois State University for graduate class, and with everything else I had to bring, I just didn't grab my camera.

Nice church -- the concert was in a multi-purpose sanctuary/gymnasium. The couple next to me said the church had been there for about six years, and they're hoping to build a separate sanctuary in the future.

At least some of the emotion has calmed down this morning....I might be able to concentrate in my classes today....Might being the operative word!!

Blessings all,
Michele

Tonight's concert was good, but he only did two songs from "The Voice", Nessun Dorma and Fly to You. There were some great moments with God Bless America and, to me, a bluesier version of He Looked Beyond My Fault...
Also, a lot of stuff on his live CD's from Birmingham. And, it was done in a small, cozy little church - a great environment for David's concert.
I hope to hear him in the future sing more from his current CD. He did mention he has been spending a lot of time in the studio. Hopefully, it is more solo genius from David.

Take care, all.

I'm going to have to pass on doing a concert review because I just can't seem to find words. My heart is overflowing, and the eyes are headed that way too. I so appreciate David's heart and sincerity -- it flows through all that he does. He is such a tremendous vessel for God's love -- he brings us all right back to His feet and reminds us that God is always there. No matter how far we may try to run or how far away we may feel, God is still there. My heart is so full that it almost hurts right now. It's not a bad thing....it's a very GOOD thing.

I can't put words to the concert, so I'll leave it to some of the others who were there to fill everyone in on the concert review board. I'll probably "chime in" in response to their posts.

Overwhelmed with emotion,

What a sweet sentiment! I have not been to a concert, but I felt a little bit the same way when I got the live DVD No More Night. I didn't want to try to explain it right away. We'll give you a little while to take it in! (But not too long, OK?) rolleyes.gif

I almost drove all the way from Denver to Illinois to go to this concert. In the end, family responsibilities won out and I decided not to go, but I was thinking about it all evening.
