I can't grasp the words to describe last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my third concert and each one gets better and better confused.gif blink.gif smile.gif I was happy to meet Linda B and Diane and get a chance to talk "in person". I took my camera along and took quite a few pictures - some too dark and some blurry (David was moving too fast) and since I was sitting at the side not as close as I'd like. I WAS able to get a picture with David biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif and I'd like to post it here to replace my avator (I think that's the word I want unsure.gif I'll need some instructions from someone - maybe Gretchen? I went with a group of eight ladies and several of us remarked how David seems to be singing right to you wub.gif The three and a half hours each way was worth it and I believe we all feel the same way. I got home at 1:00 A.M., but I'm on vacation this week so that is a good thing!!!! I've been stressed the last week with my job uncertainty, but David's concert has calmed me and given me such a peace - it's hard to explain until you've experienced it for yourself. David and Sherry are such welcoming, caring people and you feel it when you're around them, although I don't talk to David as much as I'd like because I don't want to make the people behind me wait too long.
Michele gave a very good description of the songs and the venue. I'm hoping to get to the GVB concert in Dubuque in September, but even if that doesn't happen this concert has filled my heart and I'm grateful to David for sharing his obvious God-given talent with us. Linda
Guess I was able to come up with quite a few words, but still not ones to totally convey how my heart feels today!!!!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

What a great concert! smile.gif

It was so nice to meet Michele, Diane and Linda for the first time, and also good to see a couple of old friends there that I hadn't seen in a while.

The only things he sang that I can think of right off that Michele didn't mention were the first two songs of the night, Let the Glory Come Down and If That Isn't Love (by request wink.gif ). I was expecting to hear more from The Voice, but I enjoyed all that he chose to sing instead. smile.gif Bring Him Home was very good. He started out quietly with just the guitar.

He had a couple new band members with him, Zack on violin and Jessy on guitar (or bass?). I thought I recognized Jessy from Julian Drive, so I asked David afterward, and he said he used to be with them, then added that he was just off probation! laugh.gif He was only kidding, of course.

As Michele mentioned, it was a really nice facility, and the people there were all very nice. I learned that the man that promoted the concert has 9 children!! Their ages range from about 27 to 3. The 3 year old was a bit of a surprise. wink.gif

Too bad Thor wasn't there to play his "small town" game with the audience. I think I saw a sign that said "Gibson City 3450" at one intersection in town.

Hi guys, it was definitely a wonderful concert!!! As good as any we've been too. We did miss Andrea's smile as DP had a new violin player who did a very good job considering it was his first concert. Having that live violin always makes such a difference at the concerts. I never write the songs down either as I just want to concentrate, but I do remember he sang an old hymn that I hadn't heard him sing before. He did The Love of God, which he took the time to review the words of so that people could understand the beautiful picture that song paints of God's love. He did it the way he explains it to his kids. Being my favorite hymn also made that extra special. Also he did No More Night which had special significance to us because the day of the concert was the 1st anniversary of my husband's Dad's going to heaven. I had also never heard the patriotic medley so that was fun to hear.

I did talk to him briefly after just to thank him for his ministry and also to ask him where we would see him in August since we have managed to see him in May, June, July, and will in Sept. Haha...he had no answer. I encouraged him to come to the Quad Cities, so we'll see. I think the church was mostly full so that was nice to see and hopefully a lot of new people will want to be involved in his ministry.

Brenda, I thought of you and know you really wanted to be there. Hopefully he'll come your direction soon.

Thank you, Michele. It is always a treat to hear about David and the band performing anywhere. That first concert will stick with you forever. Can still remember mine and the joy only gets better from here on out.
Glad you are with us.

Thank you Michele

I know how you felt. I will certainly remember my first time hearing David at one of his solo concerts.
When I stop to think about that night, I still get goose bumps.
Blessings

Thanks for your reports...There is just something special about your first DP Solo Concert...I can still remember ours...and it was about 3 years ago...GVB concerts are great...but LOVE the Solo ones!! Did you get to stop by the tables afterward and do the meet and greet? Hope so...You will not find yourself driving farther and farther for DP concerts wink.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif You know there is one in Van Wert, Ohio and one in Wabash Indiana in September...I'm just saying!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Michele for your review! It does take awhile to recover from a DP concert, if a person ever does. I think that's why this board is so important to us because it gives us a chance to talk about and relive the moments we have had seeing and listening to David. So happy for your experience and thanks again for letting us share it with you.
