I love this CD/DVD. Is Legacy of Love from the same night? Regardless, I've been playing No More Night all the time. I will order a different one soon, I'm sure. I'm heard so much of David with the GVB (which I LOVE) but his solo stuff is all new and different in so many ways.
Diane, I haven't totally given up hope that we can go to Gibson City. I should go ahead and buy tickets and give them away if we can't go. It would be a really long drive, 14-15 hours at least. We'd stop in Moline, I'm sure. You will be the first one I tell if we decide to make the trip! It would be so much fun to see you there! I hope it works out so that you can go with a clear conscience. I know it is quite challenging to take care of aging parents. Mine are still in good health, but I'm watching friends of mine deal with the many doctor appointments and necessary care giving.
Now I'll have to start making plans to see a Christmas show!

Hi Brenda...it's Diane...Glad to hear you got a hold of the dvd...it's wonderful. I especially like The Love of God, which we had the congregation sing at our wedding, Revelation, which of course was the first song I ever heard DP sing solo, and Second Fiddle, one of the first songs Rod liked of his.
Have you seen Legacy of Love or the new one, O Holy Night? We got to see his Christmas show in Des Moines last December and it is unbelievable. I had always heard the people on here talking about how great the Christmas show is and believe me, they weren't exaggerating.
We ordered our tickets for the show in July, but am having a problem with my dad who we just found out today has a large anurism on his aorta and he needs to have an angiogram before they will repair the aorta, so I am praying nothing happens to the anurism and he gets thru the surgery ok. We have to go to Peoria on the 10th of July for it. So I'm not sure what July holds. My mom is basically house bound for the past 2 years, and my brothers are out east, so it's just me here to help them. They live in Galesburg. Take care.

No doubt I will enjoy it for years, but I'll wear it this copy out first!
I thought the same thing about the family sharing their personal lives. None of us have had lives without pain. I admire David's family for being real with the world.

I just got No More Night - Live in Birmingham and I am enjoying it so much! I haven't watched all of the DVD yet, but I have listened to the CD several times already. I will say that I didn't realize that David and his family had shared such a personal glimpse into his childhood. Very touching.
I can't give a review because that would take all the joy out of it for me. Let's just say it is sooooooo sweet!! The old hymns are new and beautiful and the other songs just delight me!
