Riley is finally starting to walk on his sore leg! smile.gif Yesterday afternoon, he started walking on it quite a bit, and now he's using it about 90% of the time. He still holds it up from time to time, but for the most part, he seems to be using it. smile.gif smile.gif

Riley is about the same this afternoon. He still won't put his leg down. sad.gif He'll let me touch it and it doesn't seem to bother him too much, but he won't walk on it. I get to eat in peace since he's not jumping up and down on my lap to try to get my food. LOL He is laying under the foot of the couch where Nicole is sitting right now. He likes being under things.

How is Riley doing today??...Like Janette said..Pain meds make them sleep and just lay around...When our dog would hurt her back she wouldn't start to "Perk Up" for about 2 days after she was off her meds. Praying he feels better soon!!

Oh, I'm so sorry Linda. Little poms legs are so fragile. My brother has one too and she hurt her leg. I don't remember how long it took to heal but she did fine after awhile. She just needs a lot of TLC, which I'm sure she is getting. My precious maltese/terrier died on March 6th. I was so heartbroken. It is so hard to see them hurt isn't it? Keep us posted on little Riley.

QUOTE (Love Light Laughter @ Mar 26 2009, 03:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
How's Riley doing today, Linda???

Love and Light,

Lauri

"Today" doesn't start until well after 3:37 a.m. at my house, Lauri. laugh.gif But now that I'm up and didn't go to work, smile.gif, he seems to be about the same. We have him blocked out of the living room and the upstairs of the house because of a remodeling project going on upstairs, so before I could even get downstairs to him this morning, he was barking, no doubt feeling like he was penned up again. We quit penning him up at night several months ago now because he kept barking wanting out, but this morning, that's what it was like again. I can't wait till the project is done and he can go where ever he wants again. He's still hobbling around, not putting his foot down, and he's still being pretty quiet (other than barking at the men doing the work upstairs), laying around a lot, not playing.

Oh no! I hope Riley is feeling better very soon. Janette is right, I have noticed my cats bounce back quickly and my kids are still complaining in the same amount of time! LOL

Keep us up to snuff on how he's doing! Poor baby!
