I am going to have to agree with Losauve...The 'Heaven DVD Version' of David's 'No More Night', compared to any of his other versions, in my opinion is unsurpassed in power, emotion, tonality and just the over-all Spirit-filled ambiance of the experience.

The Birmingham version was absolutely wonderful as is each and every version that David puts forth. BUT, for me, in the Birmingham version, there were pitchy moments, (listen carefully) and he seemed to perform it a little bit on the conservative side with regard to power. He was being careful and protective of his voice, (which is perfectly understandable considering the repretoire he was delivering that night! Amazing endurance.) But that is why I select the 'Heaven' version to 'sell' David.

When I want to display David to one who is unaware of who he is and what his vocals are like...I choose the 'Heaven DVD Version' of 'No More Night'. And invariably, it blows people away. (more-so than the Birmingham version) In almost every way, it exceeds the Birmingham rendition in both power, pitch and emotion. The final note alone is reason enough to choose this version for in it he holds the C#5 nearly twice as long as the Birmingham version and with even MORE power. Unbelievable! The Birmingham version contains more vocal gymnastics than the 'Heaven' version...but I don't think 'No More Night' requires that.

Nobody will ever sing this song like David does...but I choose the 'Heaven' version to expose one of David's greatest performances ever of any song!

David is the greatest tenor on the face of the earth.

WE LOVE EVERYTHING THAT DAVID SINGS, BUT BOTH GORDON AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE O HOLY NIGHT AND NO MORE NIGHT THE BEST. DAVID HAS THE MOST PHENOMENAL VOICE, THANKS BE TO GOD, AND HE IS USING THIS GIFT FROM GOD TO TOUCH OUR LIVES AND THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WORLD WIDE. WE PRAY HE WILL BE ABLE TO SING TO GOD'S GLORY FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

The DVD Heaven with David's version of No More Night is spectacular. I think this is David at his best. I have told my family that I want that particular clip shown at my funeral. I know I won't hear it at that moment , but there will be people there who will need to hear it, and who better to hear it from than God's most precious ambassador today - DAVID PHELPS
Blessings

Even though it wasn't quite the response you were hoping for Karen, still a cute story. smile.gif

Deano - I like that performance, too. It had to have been the first time it was filmed, too, right?

I have to tell a story about this. (I don't think I've posted this before!) My granddaughter used to spend a Lot of time with me while her mom worked long shifts in the Navy. We had a little children's Bible we were going thru together at bedtime (she was in 1st grade I think). We finally got to the end of the book and the last story was about heaven. We read all that the book had to say about heaven, and then Laura asked me, Will there be night? I'm like - You're asking a David Phelps fan if there will be any more night? And I started going on about - No, No more night! Never dark, creepy, scary - - and she started to cry. She goes, I HAVE to have night! I'll get too tired! SOOOO not the response I was going for! When I told her mom, she said, Well I guess that pretty much puts David out of business, doesn't it!! (No, actually it doesn't!) Anyway, like you, I love the song and and so thankful for the message!
