What a great topic, Tiff!!!

I have 3x5 cards that I use to memorize verses that strike me as important for the day, such as:

1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Psalm 118:24:

24This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Ecclesiastes 7:29:

29Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

Philippians 1:21:

21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Philippians 4:4:

4Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Philippians 4:13:

13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Psalm 121

1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 97

1The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

I love the language in the KJV version of the Bible.....hehe I love Old English wink.gif

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God...

So many wonderful scriptures....but this one is so worth repeating....time after time.

Of course "Psalm 139 : 7-12" this one of Tiffs' and of course Davids'..helped me
many times.

Here are two that have helped me through the valleys of my life smile.gif

2 Corinthians 1 : 3-7
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

Psalm 139 : 7-12

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Tiffy,

All scripture is good. All of the previous verses are excellent verses. One of my emergency scriptures would be Psalm 119:114

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

All of these are great verses but mine has always been (since I am terrible about worrying about everything!) "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enought trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34..

Thanks for the reminder Tiff,,one of my "projects" this weekend is to work on those emergency cards!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

I think mine would have to be Mark Lowry's favorite verse: "And it came to pass..." smile.gif Because this too shall pass.
