I guess I read this thread differently than others-- I don't think anyone was criticizing David personally, just offering opinions, and I am sure that it was posted with no malice whatsoever. Some like curly hair, some like scruffy boots,some like pirate jackets-- I am sure we' ll agree that the voice, the music, the message, and the love David shares outshines all the other--- I would like to see some updates on here-- new pics, more current blogs, and more tour dates. This website is for the phans,so I'd like to think that David would want to know what the phans are interested in seeing on here.

Shari, I'm sure the original intent on this post was innocent but then you get someone who says this..

If y'all don't want to talk about this anymore, stop talking about it. We do have a moderator if anything said is inappropriate. Got too many bosses around here. We do have freedom of speech. DP is probably more upset about this bickering than about the way we think he looks. We are all fans and that's all that matters. As I said I liked the golden locks but that's just my opinion. If he wants it short so be it. When I first heard him he had short hair. His voice is what attracted me to him. You know I've been on Christian sites and non-christian sites and sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

Hi all. As far as David's forum needing to be updated, I give a big amen to that. What I would like to see is that David actually cares about the forum by posting on his blog regularly. I do think everyone has the right to state their opinions and this is mine. As for David's hair, I love it now and I loved it curly. The curls were a signature look but he wanted a change. I didn't think it looked right when it was a dark color but now that it is lighter it suits him better. However, he has changed his hair many times and this won't be the last. We all love David and it is only normal to occasionally discuss how he looks. When I saw him in April he was extremely trim and now it looks like he has put on a little weight but we are used to that, too. I think David cares a lot about his appearance and that doesn't bother me. I don't think anyone who states an opinion should be treated harshly and yelled at with all capital letters. There are a few issues on here I have had a problem with, but somehow I knew my opinion wouldn't be welcomed. That is why I have pretty much withdrawn from posting. Nothing to do with David personally, though.

But it would be nice to have an updated forum that shows David cares.

Well, truth be told, I guess we are all technically expressing our 'opinions'. Some choose to express their opinions positively, some choose to be negative, and we all (including me) seem to have opinions about other people's opinions. So really, according to the 'opinion rule' nobody should be bothered by anyone's opinions, right? It shouldn't matter if someone wants to criticize David (including his looks) openly or if someone wants to criticize us or our opinion, we should just take it with a grain of salt and nobody should get their feathers ruffled or feelings hurt because after all we have the right to state our opinion. The flaw with the 'everyone has the right to state their opinion' rule (which is true because we do indeed live in America) is that it seems to forget that we all have feelings, we all want to be respected and loved, and I would say most of us want to be accepted in some manor. I don't know what David really thinks of all this...maybe he does laugh it off, but I would like to think that we would take a moment before we post something to say "if this was about me, how would it make me feel". I really believe some things are best left unspoken or at least left in the privacy of your own circle of friends. I don't think there is anything wrong with the original intent of this thread...people want the website updated...great! People (including me) would love to hear from David...great! But, in my opinion, I think it is good to be mindful of who just might be stopping by to read these threads.

I only posted an opinion on the site, not our David...

I stick to my original posting guys and whoever does not like it can lump it...I was not trying to stir up a hornets nest..just asking for an update on pics...I didn't ask for more of David's time on the forum...just some photos....

And to those that like using CAPITAL letters to express themselves. They cause a reaction cos it sounds like you are SHOUTING...So, chill out on the capitals, already!

No one is trying to upset our David....but this is a place for his fans and we are entitled to an opinion on what we would like to see on here.

The reason that I stay away is because of the CAPITAL SHOUTERS...They just shout you down and then others jump on the bandwagon and before you can say I love David Phelps, someone gets upset...

Take a chill pill and read the comments properly before you start tapping on your keyboard or just don't say anything at all..

David has often taken advice from his fans and responded to them in his own way eventually.
PLUS, he likes to please his fans so I think he will probably respond to these suggestions in his own sweet way....but I am sure it grieves him to see the CAPITAL SHOUTERS trying to take away the right to free speech!!

Suzie, I don't think the comments had anything to do with your original purpose of this thread or any of your comments. And I'm not going to go back and read through and find all the people that used capitals, but I know of one person who commented has been a faithful fan of this board and of David for years and she always uses all caps...always! So, I know she was not 'yelling' at anyone..
