Three things I forgot about:
1. When JFK with Kevin Costner was being filmed in downtown Dallas where I worked, a friend and I snuck out of work several times and watched while they were doing it (there were barricades). We never got close to Kevin Coster, but saw him nonetheless and that was thrilling. We tried going on our lunch hour but didn't see much because the actors, etc. were also on their lunch hour.

2. Jimmy Dean (sausage) was a client of the law firm where I worked and one time when he was there, he was about to leave and was passing through an area where my desk was. He thought of something he forgot to mention to the attorney, who was the head partner of the firm,(he had already gone into a meeting) so Jimmy said "Anyone take shorthand?" I gladly said I did so he dictated two pages of notes to me and I helped him out. He was a very nice man and was a giant in stature. And it got me a few points with the head of the firm until the day I ran into him with a cup of coffee and his pretty white shirt became brown and his pockets full of coffee. Could have died right there I was so embarassed. He was gracious about it, though. Also, some of you may have never heard of Robbie Benson, but he was a client, too.

3. Jan Michael-Vincent used to be in a lot of movies and a couple of TV series years ago. My neighbor knows him and JMV has been over to see him twice. I met him and shook his hand. He looks very distinguished now with white hair. He is pretty much a hermit these days and nobody really knows what became of him after he messed up with drugs and alcohol. Now he has a younger wife who despises anybody that mentions when he was a star. I don't know if he ever got off the booze and drougs but he seemed nice.

Well, I will tell about meeting Elvis, but this is alrady too llong.

I'm very impressed that you all have such great stories to tell. I've liked Kevin ever since JFK and have seen about all his movies, except maybe a couple. Had a chance to meet him when he was in my area but turned it down
Anybody out there ever come face to face with Jack Nicholson?...That would make my day

Sounds like a DP lyric! It doesn't matter how we run & hide or mess up our life, Our Father is already there waiting for us to reach out in faith to Him! Then what an amazing life He has in store for us, forever! PRAISE THE LORD!!

I HAVE BEEN THINKING SINCE I FIRST POSTED ON THIS THREAD THAT SOMETHING AMAZING DID HAPPEN TO ME. I MET DAVID PHELPS IN APRIL 2010. I TALKED TO HIM FACE TO FACE AS YOU CAN SEE IN MY PICTURE, AND I GOT A HUG TO BOOT. MADE MY DAY. WITH DAVID WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. HE IS THE MOST GRACIOUS, CARING,GENTLE MAN, WHO LOVES THE LORD AND SERVES HIM AS HE IS CALLED. MEETING HIM AND HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH HIM WAS SUCH A BLESSING IN MY LIFE AND I WILL NEVER FORGET IT.

SECOND AMAZING THING WAS AT LAST YEAR'S BARN BASH WHEN HE WAS WELCOMING US, AND AT THE END OF THAT LITTLE SPEEL, HE SAID SOMEONE HAD REALLY WANTED TO COME TO THE BARN BASH BUT WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD INSTEAD, AND THAT WAS GORDON SIM. THAT BLEW ME AWAY. TO HAVE REMEMBERED THAT WITH ALL THAT HE HAS ON HIS PLATE, WAS SHOCKING TO ME. WHAT A MAN. LOVE HIM TO PIECES AND HE BRINGS ME PEACE AND BLESSES MY SOUL EVERY TIME I HEAR HIM SING. HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

    GOD BLESS.

Holy schnikees, Judy--I think maybe you could win the most-number-of-random-encounters prize!! That's amazing!! I wannna know where you have lived so I can move there!! ;) ;)

'Love it that your son has the same birthday!! :D :D :D

I also think you have some wonderful lessons for us. Here it is, years later, and you STILL remember that stranger's kindness of paying for your family's meal. You never know when the tiniest bit of kindness on your part will make a huge impact on someone else. And your son who was "lost," but now is "found?" Ohh, I so LOVE stories like these!! :D ;) :D

And Nora, I wanted to tell you thank you for trusting us enough to tell us your heartfelt, incredible story. And after reading your other posts, I DO have to say I love the way it seems so obvious that at this time in your life, you are soooo supposed to be here!! ;) :D ;)

Dee--I've gotta admit that I would like to see Kevin Costner at ANY distance! Well, yeah, preferably outside my phront door, but hey--I'll take anything I could get.

Jimmy Dean and Robbie Benson both always seemed like real nice guys--good to know they evidently were.

I used to have a crush on Jan--can't imagine him with white hair.....but then again, shoot, I can't even imagine ME with white hair now either!! (When did we get old?)   Always thought Jan looked like Don Johnson's younger brother. I hope he's been able to beat those drug demons. NOBODY needs those!!

Carol, you are not well. We will take care of you. Come over to my house and I will take your temperature. Perhaps a high temperature has caused this apparent delirium. I'll give you some aspirin if need be. Either that or we need to call Dr. Phil.
