Thank you for posting this, Patty!! I've just been able to get on here tonight.....but I sure was prayin' hard earlier for Janette and Liz in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, among all the other people involved. Watching one of those twisters flip the 18 wheelers up a hundred feet or so--as it was happening--was so chilling, and they're saying they were probably only an F1, F2, or even an F3. Back in 1999 we had an F5 (yes, an F5 for anyone who remembers the movie "Twister" ) come through here in Kissimmee, and it stayed on the ground for miles as it plowed up into the next county near Orlando. Over 30 lives were lost, and I've seen the physical, mental and emotional results. Seeing these tornadoes on TV today reminded me of the horrific tsunami hitting Japan a little over a year ago. When you are sitting in the safety and security and comfort of your own home, watching things unfold in actual real time brings the magnitude of such devastation into sharp focus. So far I think no lives have been lost in these latest storms, so I am very grateful for that.

Once again Patty, thanks so much for posting this, where we can come together and check on each other.

Love and Light,

You are so right Lauri.....When one has been through something like this....setting in the safty of our homes and watching something like this unfold, especially when we have Dear Friends and Family there, just gives us a knot in the pit of our stomachs!!!!!!

From what I have heard all "Phelps Phans" are safe...hoping the few who have not checked in will do so when they can. Janette and he daughter Susan were caught in the middle of it all...they had left earlier in the day to travel to Mr Plesant (I believe it was) to attend Susan's youngest son Zach's track meet....they no sooner got there when the sirens went off...they were all sent to "lock down" in the school's gym. When they got the all clear Zach's school, with Janette & Susan following right behind headed back to Rockwall....They made it as far as Sulphur Springs (sp ?) when the bus exited the highway. (with Janette & Susan right behind) It seems that a 2nd wave of tornadoes were heading right at them. They found a Burger King that gave them shelter as the tornadoes passed near the town. They were able to head out again and make it back to Rockwall safely, as Janette said...."through lot's of damage!!"

All of Janette's family is safe....Vanna, her one Granddaughter (Amy's daughter) school was hit, but the students had been removed to a safe place and all were safe. Amy lives in Forney where a lot of damage was done, but her area was missed!! Janette's area of Rockwall had light damage but other parts of the town many homes were flattened!

I know you are not on Facebook Lauri, so wanted to post this here as you would not have been able to follow the thread there. Janette said this morning that there are so many people hurting!!! Keeping the prayers going for all those affected!!!

My beloved home state of Texas had a very bad day yesterday, but thank God my two sons who live there in the Dallas metroplex escaped all damage but it took a while before they could get thru to me on their cell phones. Also the rest of my family which is scattered across Texas were not affected. Just the size of the hail alone very very scary!

Talked to Liz as well...She is safe, but just before one of the tornadoes hit, she ran upstairs to bring her neighbor, his wife and child down to her apt. They went right into the bathtub and stayed there as the tornado went down her street. It missed her building, thank goodness. Others in Arlington, were not as lucky... She was scared, but is ok now.

There is still a lot of storms heading east tonight... Prayers are there for everyone.

I'm so glad everyone is ok. I've heard that it's going to be a bad season for tornadoes. I live in Omaha, Nebraska and have been through a lot of tornadoes, the worst on on 1975. My prayers are going out for everyone who have lost everything. The hardest thing is losing all the keepsakes, but remember to thank God for what you do have, each other and His love.
