OKRuth wrote:I understand that David sang Going Home at the taping July 17th.
I wrote down some words from the last song that David sang at the Barn Bash in 2010:
This can't be what's meant for me, the city's not my home. It's not where I belong.
All I want is home. Back where my heart is. All I want is home, it's all I need.
I walk thru those gates back where true love waits. And I'll never feel alone.
All I want is home.
At home there's family singing beautiful harmony. And children's laughter as we run down the hall.
A banquet table with a place set just for me. Why am I still here, where I feel so small?
All I want is home.
David said he wrote this song and wanted to record it for his new project.
Is this the song he sang at the taping?

It might be, but I don't think so. A few days ago, I looked up Goin' Home on Youtube and found an old song that sounds like what I remember because it had words about father waiting and mother waiting. The lyrics I remember were more like these:
Going home, going home,
I'm a going home.
Quiet-like, some still day,
I'm just going home.
It's not far, just close by,
Through an open door.
Work all done, care laid by,
Going to fear no more.
Mother's there, expecting me,
Father's waiting too.
Lots of folk gathered there,
All the friends I knew.
There're more verses ... It's cool you wrote down some of the lyrics from last year. Hopefully, it will be on the set list for BB#3.
