Read any good books lately?

Postby AliveAgain » Thu Jul 12, 2012 5:22 am

Summertime and vacation. Never a better time to relax with a good book. Here are my tips, and I am really hoping you will share yours. I love to read!!!
Frank Peretti Piercing the Darkness and This Present Darkness (Best he´s ever written in my opinion)
Frank Peretti The Visitation
Frank Peretti Hangman´s Curse
Randy Alcorn Deadline
Tod Burpo Heaven is for real (I don´t buy it all, but it is a lot better than I thought it would be)
Jane Austen - Just read it if she has her name on it! :D
Agatha Christie - Best crime novelist that ever existed.
Adrian Plass- The sacred Diary (Still hysterical)

If you like Frank Peretti, you should try Ted Dekker. I would recommend any of his books, but my favorite Dekker book is one of his stand-alone books called"Obsessed", The Circle series are excellent as well. He has started a new series with Tosca Lee. The first book, "Forbidden", came out last year, and "Mortal" was just released a few weeks ago. Tosca Lee is also excellent. Her book "Havah - The Story of Eve" is brilliant. Happy Reading!

Frank Peretti books aren't my cup of tea. I've only read Piercing the Darkness.....liked it....but I'm not much for the genre :)
Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury and any others like them :) I've got LOADS of books on my Kindle vacation starts tomorrow.....:D

Agatha Christie is great

I read a lot, summer or winter and have gotten into the Karen Kingsbury books. She is a fine Christian writer and I don't have to worry about language or content. My granddaughter got me interested, she has everything she has written I think. Very good relaxing reading, tho I can't say I have a favorite one.

[quote="AliveAgain"]Frank Peretti Hangman´s Curse
"Tod Burpo Heaven is for real" [quote]

READ AND LOVED!!!! :D (Only part of Hangman's curse. I need to buy and finish it..) As pathetic and cliche' as it sounds, I loved the entire Harry Potter series, I loved also "the Boy who came back from Heaven", currently reading "Sing" by Margeret Hendrix, (not sure about the author), still trying to finish the hardest book to read of all, The Bible. I have two, and still can"t finish either one!! Also trying to read "Run With The Horses" by Eugene Peterson.
