Jan, my brother in law lives in St. Pete and we haven't heard anything from them yet. You say you are alright where you are though? If I'm correct, Clearwater isn't too far from St. Pete is it?

Thanks

Today (Tues.) is still a very bad hair day here. My hair is Kink City and downright scary looking. No rain right now though. Largo, Clearwater, and St. Pete are very close to each other. In fact there is a street called Clearwater-Largo Rd.

Hi guys, Debby finally hit land, so it should start calming down a little. I'm not far from St. Pete but ccording to news its pretty well flooded. On clearwater beach a couple of lifeguard houses fell over. The wind is still pretty bad. The flooding is the worst. They hd to close 2 bridges on account of the wind & the wves washing over the road. Some parts were evacuated cause of the flooding. 1 church had 8" of waterinside. Pray God will calm the storms.

All day and night here earlier today (Tuesday), smack dab in the middle of the state, it was an hour or two of the weather trying to clear, only to revert back to another 1/2 hour of being pounded with drenching rain as the different "arms" spiraling out phrom Debbie's center would blow through. As in WHOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I was like :D :D :D .... :x .... :D :D :D .... :x .... :D :D :D.... :x aaall afternoon and earlier tonight at work. It was kinda like a double-edged sword. The downpours--and wind...LOTS 'N LOTS of wind  --would send people either scurrying into the shops at Old Town..........or back to their hotels and home. I can't tell you how badly I feel for all the people who saved up, sometimes for years to come here, the home of the Big Mouse (among others), for it to rain for literally DAYS and DAYS pretty much without letting up. The latest they're reporting is that we should be back to our regular summer pattern by Thursday, where it rains every day with scattered showers everywhere, here and there and here and there.....but with each one lasting only for 10 minutes to maybe 2 hours. Then, except for sometimes when there's enough heat generated to bring a second round of storms later on, you're in the clear again for the rest of the day and night.

Still, though, I'm gonna keep my ears open if there are any reports phrom any of the zoos in the area if the animals are spotted walkin' around together in pairs. Hey----I'm no phool!! Pooki, in the meantime, says he's not takin' any chances and has been working on what he says is a lifeboat, complete with a wide, super industrial strip of waterproof velcro around the hull. ;) ;)
