Well, since you brought it up Cindy  and Neil confirmed it to be true, I will tell of the time me, my husband, and a couple of our friends saw a UFO. It was in the 80s I believe. Been a while back but I remember the object like it was yesterday. We were on a trip to the mountains when we were riding in our car. I was sitting on the passenger side in front when I happened to look to the right of me out the window and there it was. I said "What is that"?. It was close enough and bright as day that I could see every detail. It looked like it was just following us along side the mountain at the same distance and height. Just hoving in the air (No sound). It was at night but the object was as clear as day as I said and seemed to be really close (may have been cause it was so huge). It was gold with a rounded top and bottom and a rim around the middle with red, white, and green lights around the middle. No writing or anything like that. It looked just like what you would think a flying saucer would look like.
I looked at it for awhile amazed and my husband asked one of our friends in the back seat, who had been in the sevice what it was. He said he didn't know. By the time I turned back to my window it was gone in a flash. Still no sound.
A few weeks later after we got home, we were at our friend's home of all things and the news was on and they were reporting a UFO had been spotted in the same area we were at the same time we were there. We just all looked at each other. They said some called the Military and they said they had nothing in that area.
Never saw anything like it before or after. I have been a true believer ever since.
Got other stories (bet y'all can't wait  ) but I think that's enough for now.
I know Lauri for sure is going to think I need a Dr. now    No, I'm fine but it was a experience I will never forget.

'Love it that your son has the same birthday!! :D :D :D

I also think you have some wonderful lessons for us. Here it is, years later, and you STILL remember that stranger's kindness of paying for your family's meal. You never know when the tiniest bit of kindness on your part will make a huge impact on someone else. And your son who was "lost," but now is "found?" Ohh, I so LOVE stories like these!! :D ;) :D

Well Lauri, I lived not to far from where you are now, down in Palm Beach County, actually in Jupiter, Florida!

You're right about remembering kindness - that had a big impact on me as a kid. I even remember that mom and dad ordered beanie weenies (pork and beans) because it was cheap!! :D

The story of my son is the most incredible for sure. I'm proud to be his mama - actually all three boys I'm proud to be their mama! They turned into fine young men - not because of me, but in spite of me! God is good even when we don't deserve it the most. Y'all have a good week in the lord!

the only thing i ever saw unusual, (well that i can tell about) is me and my sister, cousins, and my dad took us to see Neil Armstrong in a parade when I was young...(the first guy on the moon) in Wapokeneta...(no idea how you spell it) Ohio...now that i know they claim they saw a alien spacecraft while they were up there it makes it even more special....

Cindy, the church camp I attended when I was younger is close to Wapakoneta, and I've been to the Neil Armstrong museum a couple of times. I go through Wapakoneta whenever I go to long-time board member Kellie Minkler's house in Indiana. It's a couple of hours from where I live.

I haven't done anything as exciting as some of you, but I was on vacation in Hawaii in 1982 and went to a show by Pat Harrington, an actor in the old TV show Hawaii Five-O. I really don't remember his character on the show, I think he went by the name Dan-o or something? He was very good, very entertaining, and a very big man up close! I had a picture taken with him after the show and I remember how small I felt when he wrapped his arm around my shoulder for the picture. He had pretty big arms. He was very charming.

I have sponsored three concerts with Ivan Parker so far and he'll be here again next month, but I have to say that one of the most exciting and rewarding things I've ever done was promote the concert at my church with David in 2005. It happened very quickly, and in just 6 short weeks, between myself and his management team at the time, got everything arranged, advertised, sold, etc, and the show was a huge success. I never in a million years dreamed it could happen, but it did. Just to think that he gave a concert on the same platform that I sing on every Sunday morning is pretty exciting. Definitely an event I'll never forget. I know Mike/Olegoat, and Debbie and Janis have also hosted/promoted one with him, and Jackee and Vicki both had a big hand in one out in their area, so I know they've all experienced the same excitement I have. :)

Oh, Nay! Nay! Nay! ;) You might not believe this, Carol, (while others will undoubtedly say what the heck took me so long to admit it    ), but I have soooooooooooooooooo believed in aliens (and many cryptids--thousands of new animal species are phound each year) since I can remember back to my childhood. With the unimaginable infinite vastness of the universe, it has always made not just sense but TOTAL sense to me that there would be other life phorms out there...some less intelligent than mankind while others more so (although that might also depend upon your definition of "intelligence" with the way we treat each other at times). What if another civilization began a mere thousand years before those of ours on earth? Good Lord--how phar have we come with technology in even just the last 35? The possibility of a thousand more years of even just OUR strides boggles my mind, let alone when you think of a civilization that may have started 50,000 years before us? What could THEY accomplish?

The phields of theoretical and string theory physics are a PHASCINATING ones.....once you get beyond all the technical jargon and computations to the nitty gritty of just the basics of what exactly ARE they trying to say each time. There's a program that I watched (like this    by the end of it) about maybe 5 years ago on the Discovery Channel (I believe it was) by a physicist, explaining all these phormulas in terms that even I could understand. Phor example: the shortest distance between 2 lines is a straight one, phrom point A to point B, right??? Well, if you put a dot on on top corner of a piece of paper, and then another down on the bottom corresponding corner, and then go to phold the paper around until they touch...well, now you've got that wormhole through space. And then--THEN he started expanding out, explaining how every year or two, another physicist in the world would extrapolate out a new theory of the space/time continuum, based upon some phindings of the previous guy. And on. And on. And on. I phollowed him out to about the 9th theory, when things started blurring in my head. (Well, that happens a lot anyway. ;) ) I actually understood each theory that had been proposed. Me. Whose technical expertise consists of "Click on http://www.davidphelps.com" and "Click on http://www.youtube.com".

Well, all I will always and ever say, is this is what I believe. They are MY beliefs. I never would expect to tell anyone else to agree with me...as I would not want to be told that I should, let alone must, phollow their belief on something. But I'll be glad to think about what you've got to say!

I love this place. It's got to be one of the few where someone can go phrom jobs to quantum physics and we're nice enough--civilized enough   --to call it a "detour"...even "highjacking"...or "Bless her heart--she 'cain't help it, poor thang."
