I wanted to start a topic here, but was so shocked by everything.

When I was a Freshman in College, in 1986, Whitney Houston WAS IT.
And for everyone in the Music Dept., like me - she was "the voice to be".

I STILL cannot believe it. :|

Yet another cautionary tale of what can happen.....

I am in shock too. Feel kind of numb! I couldn't believe what I was reading. 48 yrs. old and Whitney is gone. What a loss to the music business! She was a beautiful woman with a voice unlike any other!! I feel sorry for her daughter!!
Will be praying for family and friends.

I don't understand why everyone is so shocked--Whitney Houston abused drugs for years and years, and in a 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer said that she was her own worst demon. I am sad, so very sad that such a wonderful talent is gone, and I pray that she is finally at rest...but shocked, no.

Even though I knew Whitney had a problem with drugs, I was and am still numb because it happened so quickly. They said on the news she had been recovering and getting ready to get her career back in order. For me I would have liked to have seen that. Anytime a person passes no matter what they have done, to some it is still shocking because they care so much about that person and are still holding out hope.
I just hope she was ready to go. That she had made things right with the Lord.
I would love to hear her lead Heaven's Choir!!

I believe the that Whitney Houston was not alone in that hotel room. I believe the Lord was with her and ushered her into eternity with God to be at peace for ever and ever. She was robbed by the demons of this world.

The way Whitney died or the way they found her reminded me of Dorothy Dandridge :(

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHm9Ggdanyo I really don't think Whitney ever forgot her roots. Same as Elvis.
