Writer of song "Daystar"

I don't know about you all, but I just LOVE the song that Jason Crabb sings with the GVB called "Daystar" Anyway, the writer of that song has passed away this morning, but he had left his testimony on how he came to write that song..it's a bit slow going, but interesting nonetheless..so if anyone is interested, I just thought I'd post it here...many people were VERY blessed by this beautiful song!

Thank you for sharing this,Lo!. I love "Daystar" and was privileged and blessed to hear Michael English and the GVB sing it at the Homecoming concert in Calgary back in 2009. I love Jason's rendition too!!.

Thanks for sharing Lo....interesting story...God sure gave Steve a beautiful song with great lyrics..love it too Lo!

Lily of the Valley, let your sweet aroma fill my life
Rose of Sharon show me how to grow in beauty in God's sight
Fairest of ten thousand make me a reflection of your light
Daystar shine down on me let your love shine through me in the night

Lead me Lord, I'll follow. Anywhere you open up the door
Let your word speak to me, show me what I've never seen before
Lord I want to be your witness,
you can take what's wrong and make it right
Daystar shine down on me, let your love shine through me in the night

Lord I've seen a world that's dying wounded by the master of deceit
Groping in the darkness, haunted by the years of past defeat
But when I see you standing near me
shining with compassion in your eyes
I pray Jesus shine down on me
let your love shine through me in the night

Lead me Lord, I'll follow anywhere you open up the door
Let your word speak to me, show me what I've never seen before
Lord I want to be your witness,
you can take what's wrong and make it right

Daystar shine down on me, let your love shine through me in the night

Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Lo. My Mom was a teacher and her mantra for all 6 of us kids (and anybody else who might be around  ;) ) was "Learn. Learn. Learn." I, too, found the story behind the song interesting. I've said a prayer for his Homecoming. As Mark would say, "Be happy, 'cause he's kickin' up gold dust now!"

Love and Light,

Great song! I'm sorry to hear that the man passed away. :(

I remember Michael English singing Daystar years ago when it was new, or at least when I first became familiar with the song. Marshall Hall also does a fantastic job on it. :) My brother also used to sing it at our church. :)
